Valentine's Day ------The great West v/s Us debate

Ever wondered how we have started adopting rituals of the west, is it for the good or not so good! I would assume till the time we adopt new things on the pretext of globalisation and dont forget our roots, our culture, our civilisation, we are fine! However it is a thin line which is mostly not visible to most of us making this transition, so we have to be careful, having said that it doesnt mean we would close our eyes and think that things are not happening in the world just because our eyes are closed!
We do celebrate New Year's eve, most of us don't we, so what is the hue and cry about this day!!
The only point is be happy and let be happy but don't forget your identity and try to pretend you are someone else who you are not!!!!!

Well, I believe that there is no harm to our Indian culture in celebrating Valentines Day with our loved ones. Like other festivals, it is a joyous occasion to get together and celebrate the emotions of sharing love. But all this should be taken in the right spirit. Many of us think that Valentines Day is like a license for youngsters to have some cheap fun and sorry to say, in a lot of cases this exactly happens ! The young blood needs to instill in its mind that days like this are not celebrated to be loud about one's attraction towards the opposite sex but to feel blessed about having loving family and friends around them. In this busy world, Valentine's Day is just a reminder that love is a gift of God and we should cherish it.
